![]() I requested both an u[grade and early check-in and a very friendly staff granted that to me on the day of my arrival hours before I could reach there as I was driving from LA. Marriott has a wonderful app whereby you can chat with the front desk 2 days before your arrival and also check in using the app and request extra items that you need. ![]() But for this "Destination Fee" issue, we would have provided a five star review,Ä¡the hotel is adjacent to the convention center so it was very helpful for me as I was attending the convention. Forcing guests to pay for amenities that guests do not need or desire is a poor business model. This whole "Destination Fee" experience left a very poor impression on us. We protested the charge at the Elite Desk, and it was promptly removed. ![]() When it came time to check-out, that same $13+ charge appeared on our bill. We had $13+ worth of wine pours in the M Club. We were told "absolutely", so that is how we chose to utilize the $15 credit that we were obligated to pay $35 for. Being Bonvoy Titanium, the internet access as part of the "Destination Fee" was of no value since that is already part of Titanium benefits. And we didn't need a shoe shine that was also part of the $35 fee. Same for the fitness class for one person - no use to us as a couple. In our case, the one hour bike rental for one person and the one hour kayak rental for one person were of no use to us as a couple. This is not good value for guests and is, quite frankly, the reason why we will stay away from any Marriott properties that impose such a fee on their valued guests. One aspect of our stay was disappointing: management's decision to charge a $35 per night "Destination Fee" that is in addition to the nightly room rate.
